I received yours [letter?] of the 4th Inst:
enclosing Col: Toussards Requisition for one hundred and a
fifty four Dollars and the officers Receipts to whom the same
was advanced.
The Money has been forwarded to Capt Bruff from this
Office to Albany for the pay of the Company for the Month of May
so that your advances must be considered as for the Month of
June you will accordingly receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Dep.
P. M. Newport (to whom you will give your Receipts for the same
accordingly) the amount thereof to refund you the same.
You will also receive from him the Sum of Two —
thousand three hundred and thirty six Dollars for the pay and
forage of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers for the Month of
May which Sum you will give your duplicate Receipts for and
proceed to pay the Corps agreeably to enclosed Receipt Rolls —
after you have made the payments you will transmit the Receipt
Rolls to this Office for examination — I am under the necessity
of troubling you with the duty of Pay Master owing to none being —
