War Office May 26^th. 1796. Sir I enclose a Resolve of Congress of the 18th April last directing the Secretary of War to return to the respective District Judges, the names of all such persons as have been transmitted to him by the several District Judges pursuant to the "Act for the regulation of Claims to Invalid Pensions," and in whose cases the examining Physicians have neglected to specify the ratio of disability. Agreeably to said Resolve, I herewith transmit to you the names of all such persons belonging to the State of Massachusetts, as are comprehended therein, together with the defective returns of the Physicians. You will be pleased to direct a re-examination agreeably to the Resolve of Congress, and transmit the reports of the Physicians to this Office, in order that they may be submitted to Congress at their next Session.
