Sir, War Office May 23^d 1796 Understanding from the report of the Captain of the Vessel lately arrived here from Georgia that a Vessel was taking in a Cargo of live oak at that place for Norfolk and would probably sail in few days after her departure As that Vessel may contain such timber as is wanted by M^r Humphreys you are requested to assist the Captain on his arrival at New York to proceed to Philadelphia with the utmost dispatch. Sir, War Office May 24^th 1796 In answer to your letter of yesterday, enclosing the account of the Schooner Dispatch at NewYork with live oak from Georgia It will be proper that the Schooner should proceed as soon as possible to Philadelphia without exchanging any part of her Cargo at Norfolk Orders to that effect are forwarded to M^r Blagge by yesterdays, but as her arrival was not expected I hope this Cargo with what timber is ordered from the Navy yard at Norfolk will compleat the frame of the Frigate building at this post.
