There is the truth Shaffer also told me that the letter which he directed Bunker to write he mentioned that M^r [undecipherable] had given a Certain Canner a large Number of Names that had Claims against the united States although he Said he did not know that it was the Case but that he was at times Eight Small Childer and an Such awaken they most lay under the Slandous report as well as my Self which is a hard Case that Clame that now lies in the land office which I bought from mayers you may rest ashured that that I got it honestly and before m^r Stagg wold have it I was under the nefesty of bringing Squire morris to the office to prove that he Saw me pay him Eighteen dollars and in his presents Swor that he was the man who Served and in what Regiment he Served if you will have the goodness to Consider this or if you wold have me an the manner I Could tell you a delt plan as for I am a very poor if the Secretary at war Could Sett his letter it wold be in my favor or if you wold wish to have or now my Corn Cane give you Such a wors as will have no doubt on mind I Can obtain it were I have lived for the years past and ware I now reside my Ration Return lies in the war office for Settlement for my Company mittens that I Commanded on the late western Expedition if I was Such a base man as you have been told wold not be trusted with Such trust with this I must End and beg hee to Subscribe my Self your very obedent humble Servent M^r W^m Simman Esq^r Christian Heulbert
