Sir, War Office May 23^d 1796 Understanding from the report of the Captain of the Vessel lately arrived here from Georgia that a Vessel was taking in a Cargo of live oak at that place for Norfolk and would probably sail in two days after her departure As that Vessel may contain such timber as is wanted by M^r Humphreys you are requested to assist the Captain on his arrival at Norfolk to proceed to Philadelphia with the utmost dispatch. Sir, War Office May 24^th 1796. In answer to your letter of yesterday, announcing the arrival of the Schooner Dispatch at Newyork with live oak from Georgia It will be proper that the Schooner should proceed as soon as possible to Philadelphia without discharging any part of her Cargo at Norfolk Orders to that effect are forwarded to M^r Blagge by yesterdays, but as her arrival was not dispatched. I hope this Cargo with what timber is ordered from the Navy yard at Norfolk will compleat the frame of the Frigate building at this post. — Sir, War Office May 26^th 1796 By comparing the Invoice of the Cargo of the Schooner Dispatch with the orders sent forward to M^r Blagge find it necessary to make some alteration in which timber is to be sent from the Navy yard account of those timbers on board of that Vessel.
