Colonel Samuel Hodgdon Intendant of Stores Philadelphia Greenville 19th May 1796. Sir. Your letters of the 25th March & of the 1st of April last, are received, containing forms for keeping the Accounts of Army Clothing & of Indian Goods. I shall endeavor to comply with your request as soon as possible, I did not know till lately Who the proper department for making my Returns of Indian Goods.
The delivery of the Summer Clothing to the Troops, & the movements of the Army will prevent me from complying with your wishes as soon as I should otherwise do.
