[Endorsed: New york / 18 May 1796 / Forman Cheesman] New york 18^th May 1796 Dear Sir I this moment received your favour of 17^th Ins^t and by the return I have made out you will see what Timbers there are, here, that will answer agreable to the directions sent to the agent a few days past which says I must be particular to see they work full to the mould — so far. I have been in those contained in the return worth even checking I think there is more floor to be had from this yard, some more futtocks might be procured by using that Method which if the best you will advise me of it.
