D^s 1000 — . for paying his Company of Levies 1264,29 1793 May 8 for pay of the 4^th Sub Legion. . . . 2101,44 1795 &1679 for Recruiting. . . . . . . . . . . . 300 — 4745,73 Altho I have repeatedly requested Cap^t Price to settle his Accounts he has never even answered my Letters nor forwarded a single voucher — and he has been in the vicinity of the Pay Master for more two Years and never rendered an account or voucher for the expenditure of any part of the above Sum — altho repeatedly called upon to do it — from these circumstances Sir I am led to give you this information conceiving it proper that officers should be called to account for monies so long in their hands — you no doubt will see the propriety of directing Cap^t Price to render his accounts for settlement to this Office without delay and he probably will pay that attention to your Letter which he has refused to mine I am &c William Simmons
