Agreeably to the Letter of the 27 of March 1795 from my predecessor to you — you continue to stand charged on the Books of this Office under date of the twenty eighth August 1795 with the Sum of Two hundred and fifty Dollars received by you on that day from Daniel Stevens Esqr of the District of Charles St Carolina for the purpose of mounting the Artillery at Georgetown I have therefore to Request that you will as early convenient forward your Account and Vouchers for the expenditure or any part that the balance (if any) due the United States may be Refunded by you; and your account closed on the Books of this Office. Your Answer on this subject you are requested to forward as early as circumstances will admit
