Department of War Accountants Office 18 May 1796 Sir I received your letter of the 13^th Inst^t together with the Muster and pay Rolls for the Corps of Art^s & Eng^rs for the Month of March 1796 which has been examined and the amount being Three thousand two hundred and fifty five Dollars and 56 C^ts which differs from yours seventeen Dollars the Amount of Captⁿ Stodderts pay which has received at this Office. This Sum you will receive of Major W^m Kersey to whom you will give your Duplicates No^s 41. the also encloses are No^s Rolls — The enclosed account of Captⁿ McIntires I return you for the purpose of paying the same — James William Simmons Cap^t Dan^l Britt.
