My Ac.^t N.^o 2 is also enclosed amounting to Six Dollars, which I will thank you to remit to me at this place. With esteem & respect I am D. Sir Your most humble Ser.^t [Signature: Littlefield] William Simmons Esq.^r I Jonathan Parsons do acknowledge to have voluntarily inlisted myself as a Soldier in the corps Artillerists and Engineers in the service of the United States, for the period of three years unless sooner discharged; upon the terms mentioned in the act, entitled, "An act for the continuing and regulating the military establishment of the United States, and for repealing sundry acts heretofore passed on that subject." And that I have had read unto me the rules and articles of War against mutiny and desertion, and relative to the administration of justice. Witness my hand, this Eleventh day of May 1796.
