Sir,
I shall direct a warrant to issue for three thousand three hundred and fifty Dollars, being amount of the Bills which you inform me in your letter of the 6th inst. have been drawn upon you by Abraham Kirkpatrick and Daniel Haragan. You will be pleased to inform these Gentlemen, that a new Arrangement is contemplated on this subject, dictated by considerations of economy, and that in future they are to value upon the Secretary of war for such sums as they are or may be authorized and empowered to draw for.
