I had the honor to receive; inclosing an order upon Joshua Wentworth Esq^r. for the amount of my pay. and subsistence to April y^e 30^th 1795: which was receiv'd. and duplicate receipts given: Since which period, not having any immediate demands. I have omitted to call on you for the balances. which may have been due: Inclosed I transmit a certified statement. of the arrearrages of pay, and Subsistence due me. to the 30^th of April 1796: the amount of which, if found right: I will thank you. to remit to me; by the first safe conveyance; if in post notes. I shall be much oblig'd. by a remission in notes not to exceed from two. to three hundred dollars: as a very considerable difficulty arises in the negotiation of notes of a large amount.
