West Point, April 25. 1796.
Sir,
Your favors of the Ultimo I have received, with the seventy eight dollars & ten cents you forwarded to Coll Fish, to be delivered to me, for the February pay of the ordnance detachment at this garrison – duplicate receipts for said money I forwarded to Coll Fish.
I now enclose you a packet of vouchers for contingent expenses at this post, amount, two hundred and ninety dollars – I also enclose you a receipt roll for February pay of the ordnance detachment, amount, seventy seven dollars & ninety three cents, and a pay roll for March of said detachment, amount, seventy three dollars.
The receipt roll is seventeen cents less than the money you sent for the February pay of the ordnance detachment – this difference was occasioned by Way & Lawrence having been paid off by me prior to my receiving your letter; their terms of service having expired.
The 22d of this month I forwarded to the Auditor of the Treasury a packet of vouchers for firewood for the troops here, amount, three hundred & seventy dollars & forty cents.
I shall shortly forward to you some more vouchers. —
I am, with respect,
Sir,
Your most obedient
humble servant,
Geo. Fleming.
P.S. I wrote to you the 6th & 11th ultimo. —
