I received your letter of the 9 Inst enclosing the Notes of the State of Maryland No Receipts Watergrade and Gallipolis and your Account of Compensation; in answer thereto I have to inform you that no further payment can be made before your Accounts are finally adjusted. I shall therefore be under the Necessity of the payment to Mr William Skinniry when he appears with your Notes the Notes will be retained in the Office until you forward your for the Settlement of your Account —
