Marietta 9^th April 1796 D^r Sir I inclose you the Rolls for the scouts of Marietta, Belpre, Waterford & Galliopolis I have not got the Reciepts of all of them from three of the men at Galliopolis, if you please to pay the money I will forward their separate receipts immediately after I issue their money they were absent when the Rolls were made up or I should have received their Reciepts — I have sent an account for my Services, it is eighty dollars which I am confident you will have no objection to allow as I shall be obliged to attend sometime after I charged the public to settle with the men — I hope in a short time to forward you all the missing Vouchers to exonerate me from every charge against me at the War Office, two or three — one at [undecipherable] who I have not got the Receipts from & one of the Parties of the 2^d Company is absent or I should have done it long before this Time. and I have given M^r W^m Simmons my power to draw the money for the scouts, & he is an able Responsible man — you will see by this that Blair, Belprie, & Waterford are made up to the 25^th of March, they were on duty till that time I had imployed them on the frontiers to escort the friendly Indians to the settlements, who are daily flocking in to trade.
