Your letter of the 9th Inst and the pay Note for [undecipherable]
have come to hand— In Answer thereto I have to inform you that [undecipherable]
Corps of Artillerists and Engineers at West point are paid up to the [undecipherable]
Month before you leave West point your presence may be dispensed [undecipherable]
for any Reasonable time and there will be no necessity for appointing [undecipherable]
another Officer in your place You will therefore order [undecipherable]
the Pay and Muster Rolls made out for the Month of March and [undecipherable]
without Delay to this Office for examination and I will endeavor [undecipherable]
