[Major Craig's Acco^t] [Col^d Pickerings] [Dec 31^st March] [1796] The United States To Isaac Craig D^r For his Services as Commissary of Military Stores at the Post of Pittsburgh commencing 1^st of May & Ending 31^st Decem^r 1792 viz Eight Months @ 55 Dollars For his Services as d^o commencing 1^st of January 1793 & Ending 31^st of December 1795 inclusive viz thirty six Months @ thirty Dollars 1080 Dollars 1520 Colonel Pickerings says before he can determine any thing relative to the above claim — he must be informed what was the compensation stipulated whether any thing was afterwards done in conse= quence of the information he meant to get from me — And whether he does not mean that the sum to be allow ed you as Deputy Quarter Master General was to embrace all subsequent Services — In fine he wishes you to State to him the whole compensa tion you have received for your Public Services of every kind since the date of the General Letter say 15 June 1796 — When thus informed he will do what he conceives to be just to all concerned — 28^th March 1796 — Y^rs Samuel Hodgdon
