[Received from State Dep't Nov. 24, 18[undecipherable] B.P.O. 40130] New London March 21^st 1796 I have herewith forwarded to you my Return of Men recruited &c for February. When I returned from Kentucky I found Adam Bowser employed in the Armoury and the Pay Roll forwarded which included him for the first time in which his Pay commences at the time of his arrival here — He now wishes to know whether you will be willing it should take place at the time of his engagement in Philadelphia. Permit me to entreat you not to send larger than one hundred dollar Notes to me in future.
