Caleb Swan Esquiry Greenville Sir I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of the 14 December, 19 January & 6^th February with their enclosures — I have stated to the Secretary of War agreeably to the information contained in your letter of the 14 December, the necessity for an immediate Supply of Money to liquidate you certain advances before the Quarter Masters and other Departments &c — and to make up the deficiencies of Estimates — which he has hitherto declined doing — not knowing the extent of the amount you will be enabled to draw for. I am continuing to advance M^rs Greaton Money on account of her husbands Pay — indeed she seems to depend upon the usual Supply of 90 Dollars every quarter you may therefore calculate on my paying that Sum and continue to make Stoppages from M^r Greaton accordingly. — I enclose for your government a Schedule of the Warrants drawn in continuation from the 22^nd of December 1795 to the 5 of March 1796 Inc. — I am Sir &c — William Simmons
