[Duplicate] War Office, March 3, 1796 Sir, The President of the United States with the advice and consent of the Senate having appointed you a Commissioner in conjunction with George Clymer and B. Hawkins Esq^rs to hold a treaty with the Creek nation of Indians, I have hereunto annexed the Instructions to the Commissioners for their Government in holding and conducting the said Treaty and a Copy of the Invitation to the Indians explanatory of its Objects and requiring their Attendance. The treaty you will perceive is to be held at Colerance on St. Marys about the middle of May ensuing, which it is hoped, nothing will prevent you from attending.
