                  I have now to acknowledge the receipt of yours of the 6th January and 16th Instant - and have 

thought proper to cause a further advance to be make to you of Five hundred Dollars in order to enable to complete your payments, which sum you will receive from Nathaniel Gorham Esquire Supervisor Boston for which you will please to give him duplicate receipts.

 I herewith enclose to you an account that you rendered to the Office under the date of 10th October 1794 amounting to five hundred fifty two pounds, two shillings

and four pence the greater part of which (all that are not checke’d off with (indecipherable) or unsupported by any receipt or voucher you are therefore requested if the vouchers are still in your possession to forward them on to this Office immediately or to state under deposition any fact relative to the want of them and that the sum charged was paid by you for the benefit of the United States and for the purpose therein mentioned, and when you transmitt your account Current you will please to attest to it under Oath in like manner and that the Balance Stated (if any) is just and true.—
