enclosing your account of Pay and Subsistence, the am.ot of which [Editor’s note: (Cancelled) was on the left hand margin by this letter.]

agreeably to your statement you requested might be passed to M.r John W. Blake which would have been done - had an error been discovered in the calculation of the subsistence- have therefore paid him the Two hundred Dollars agreeably the proviso in your letter - and the Balance being 71 Dollars 95/100 agreeably to the within copy of the statement, will be remitted you through Nathaniel Gorham, Esq. Supervisor for which (indecipherable) give your duplicate Receipts - I inclose ‘you your Receipt forwarded by Mr. Blake and request you will obtain the Contractors Certificate that you drew no rations for the period charged in your amount.-
