Sir, I enclose a Certificate from the Register of the Treasury, by which it appears that Samuel Hodgdon has received credit on the Books of the Treasury for the sum of one thousand and two hundred Dollars (paid by him to Elias Laugnam) for the purpose of transferring the same to his debit on the Books of your Office where the expenditure thereof is to be exhibited. You are therefore requested to cause such entries to be made for the purpose of charging the said Samuel Hodgdon in the Books of your Office with the sum aforesaid, as the nature of the transaction may require.
