                      Nicholas Tish Esquire Supt. at New York is directed to pay

you the sum of Eighty Dollars & ninety three cents, being so much due to a detachment of the 1st S. Legion in the service of the United States stationed at West Point for the service of the Ordnance Department for their pay for the Month of January 1796 for which sum you will receipt to the said Nicholas Fish, to be accountable for the due application thereof. —
