Department of War — Sup^t of New Hamp^re Accountants Office February 25^th 1796 Sir I received your letter of the 12^th Inst and in answer thereto have to inform you, that on a reference to the files of the Secretary of War's Office I discovered one from you dated 7^th April 1795 enclosing the account for 16 Dollars & 72 Cts which has enabled me to settle your account you will accordingly receive from the Treasurer of the United States the sum of fifty nine Dollars and [undecipherable: 86] Cts being the amount of your Commissions on receiving, and paying monies between 17^th May 1793 and 28^th November 1795 — for which then please to forward your receipt. — I am Sir Y^rs William Simmons [Page 440 YAA01]
