Sir
By last post we wrote you respecting D. Baragani's [undecipherable] of [undecipherable] on you in fav. of Nathn Shaw for [undecipherable] Dollars The original of which we thought had meantime also had been presented to you [undecipherable]— In this we have committed a great error and hasten to explain it to you and to ask your pardon for any trouble & inconvenience the mistake may have occasioned—
So long ago as the 4th Nov. the first Bill was received by us and forwarded to our friends [undecipherable] Viehlin to whom you paid it — at that time the writer of this who does the active part of our Business was from Home and when the 2d Bill came to hand he did not know of the 1st being received— We regret the irregularity very much, but no injury to the currency of the Bills can result, as the protested Bill remains in our hands—
