The foregoing is a copy of my last letter to you since which I have received your letter of the 31st December and 6th Instant enclosing estimates for the months of Novembr and December 1795— The amount being 2717 22/100 Dollars has been paid agreeably to your request to Samuel Hodgdon— and for which sum you stand charged on the Books of this Office—
The duplicate above refer'd to, enclosed a post Note; I am in some anxiety lest some accident might have Occur'd that prevented the letter reaching you— I have to request that you will inform me by the next Post if you have received it—

Herewith I transmit you duplicates of the Accounts of Ensn David Thompson and Ensn Valentın Payton up to the time each arrived at Pittsburgh with their Recruits; by which it appears that the former is indebted to the United States the sum of three hundred and one Dollars and ninety two Cents, and the latter the sum of ninety one Dollars and eighteen Cents, each of which sums I have directed the above mentioned Officers respectively to refund you, for which you will please to sign duplicate Receipts and transmit information thereof to this Office—
