[end of previous letter:] of this Office. — I am Sir &c William Simmons — Isaac Craig Esq^r Pittsburgh Department of War Accountant's Office January 23. 1796— Sir, I received your letter enclosing the receipt of Major Bazaleel Howe for Packets said to contain fourteen thousand four hundred and thirty Six Dollars— which sum will accordingly be passed to your Credit. I could wish that your Accounts may be forwarded for payments during the last year together with an account Current Stating the monies received from this Department and those paid on account thereof, that I may be enabled to close your account on the Books of this Office for the last Year— I am Sir &c— William Simmons Col. West Point Department of War Accountant's Office January 23^d. 1796— Sir, I have received your letters of the 12^th and 19^th Inst. enclosing the receipts of Nehemiah Fruman for two thousand Six hundred and nineteen Dollars &c, George Flemings receipt for one thousand Doll^rs and Capt Darius Wadsworths receipt for Twenty three Dollars and [undecipherable] which sums will be passed to your Credit on the Books of this Office.
