Pittsburg 15^th January 1796 Dear Sir Your letter of the eighth instant enclosing twenty five [underline: hundred] dollars in post notes is this moment come to hand together with the packet of News papers and a letter addressed to Major Herkpatrick which shall be sent forward. I wish you had particularly adverted to my letter of the 11^th ult: in which I pointed out to you that in the course of transactions between the D M G and myself, a balance of upwards of seven thousand dollars stands in my favour which I request you to endeavour to have negotiated in such a manner as to be subject to my draft, this hope is not altogether neglected indeed I have no reason to doubt your friendly attention, but your many Avocations may hitherto have prevented you but hope in your next to be informed of your having made some advance in that Business.
