I now with this enclose [undecipherable] my account of money I disbursed for firewood for the artillerists & engineers, to the 31 ultimo N^o 1. with the vouchers to it, being all the vouchers for firewood I could get ready to send by this Post. amount 1939 dollars & 16 cents. Also I send you my accounts of contingent expenses N^o [3?] [sated?] the 31 ultimo, with their vouchers, amount of N^o 2 1079 dollars & 6 cents, and amount of N^o 3 1468 dollars & 13 cents. Total amount of these three accounts 4480 dollars & 96 cents. L^t Toussard informs me he forwarded the muster roll of the ord[nance?] detach[men]t for November. I made out another from my pay roll, which he says he will sign & send to you tomorrow. L^t Rochefontaine has not ar[rived?]. I hear he is at [Plattsburg?]. I have been obliged to be under the very disagreeable necessity of borrowing 1000 dollars, to enable me to stem the current of calls for money for work done here & purchases, by desire of L^t Toussard, for the artillerists quarters. I have requested the hon. the Secretary of Wars to send me immediately three thousand dollars for contingent expenses at this post. I hope there will be no delay in sending this money. I will immediately go to endorsing more vouchers & writing the certificates on them, & will send them to you as soon as I get the certificates signed.
