Lieut. MClellan January 1796 Recd. 12 Westpoint 7th January 1796 Sir On the 4th instant, I received two large horses & One Hogshead of Public Stores, addressed to me as Tuny.[?] QeMAster & forwarded by Messes James Manning & Co of New York; but no Invoice accompanied them. The Commanding Occicer, ordered me to open them and ascertain their contents; on examination (befoer the Assistant Store Keeoer) I found the Articles & quantity, which are under notice Four Hundred & Forty six Helmets Three Hundred & Fifty six Plumes Four Hundred & Ninetynine Cockades, complete Eleven - - - - do - - - - incomplete Forty eight for Sergts Wool: Overalls Twentyfour Sergts Shirts Three Silk Epauletts Seventyfive Buff Swords Belts & One [undecipherable] Majors Cane, also some articles of Stationary of which an accurate Account cannot beginn undill the Invoice is received I am with respect Sir Your very Obt Servant Jn McClallen Le Tuny[?] QrMaster
