By Mr Gardner I have drawn a bill on you for 700. Dollars which you will please have paid to him —
My accounts and returns will be forwarded by the next post wherein you will find the sum drawn for due to me for disbursements exclusive of the monies heretofore rec'd for that purpose — and will Still leave a Balce due me
I have again been out collecting the Cavalry Arms & Accoutrements, and by endeavoring to save expence to the public have accumulated, by hiring a cart which I thought would be sufficient but found it not to be a suitable carriage for so great a journey of course was obliged to hire a Waggon — I shall not be able to get in all those there owing to the Negligence of some of the Officers whom I shall report to the war department
