The Secretary of War handed me your letter of the 10th Inst. enclosing the Sergeants Muster Roll of the men at Norfolk — I have to request that you will have the men mustered under Oath — and have a Pay Roll made out therefrom, of the Monies due them for which purpose I have enclosed Blank Muster and Pay Roll — after this is compleat, the Rolls are to be transmitted to this Office — and the money shall be sent on immediately.
