I now have to inform you that the Pay Rolls of the Garrison at West Point to 31 October have been examined and the amount found due being Two thousand seven hundred and forty five Dollars you will receive as usual from Nicholas Fish Supervisor, New York, for which you will give your proper Receipts — A list of alterations in the Pay Rolls you have enclosed — for your government — —
Agreeably to my letter of the 14 Ulto Respecting the additional Bounties, I now enclose you a list of the sums Due to those Soldiers of the Corps inlisted by the Officers who have settled their Recruiting Accounts at this Office amounting to six hundred and fifty five Dollars 75/100 — As this Account will be increasing when the Officers settle their Accounts — It has been thought advisable to transmit the sum of Seven hundred Dollars for the purpose of making those payments — which has been accordingly done — You will receive that sum of Nicholas Fish — for which you will give your Receipts — I shall from time to times as Officers settle their Accounts transmit you a further list of Retained Bounties — After making the payments I have to request you will transmit the Receipts together with a list of the monies and sums paid —
