Dayton and the detachment under his command on Governors Island for the month of November 1795. which sum you will please to pay to him taking his duplicate receipts to be Accountable for due application thro' one of which you will please to transmit to this Office I am Sir &^c William Simmons George Gate Esq^r Maryland Department of War Accountants Office December 9^th 179[5] On examination of your Account on the Books of this Office as Supervisor— I observe that you are charged with 36 90/100 Dollars for which no Receipt has yet been received, altho' the money is charged to you under Date of the 20^th June last— I have to request that you will forward Col. Philip Reed's receipt for that sum agreeably to my letter to you of the above date.
