I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23d Instant together with its accompaniments which when examined will be entered accordingly.
In answer to that part of your letter which relates to the claim of the commanding Officer for expences in paying postage of letters &c — I have to observe that in all cases of this Nature I would advise that the Vouchers be transmitted to this Office and you will be informed of the issue. —
