Pittsburg 2^d October 1793. Sir I have received your letter of the 25^th Instant enclosing eighteen Post Notes of One hundred Dollars each for the use of Quarter Masters Department. Upon examining the Original Invoice delivered Mathias Slough in Philadelphia I find there are no more than 120. — (3 points) Blankets mentioned in the Invoice agreeably to my receipt of the 29^th of May last. — The Stockings forwarded by John Ridebach were received, & the mistake must have arisen in Copying the Receipt from the Invoice. On yesterday I shipped for Fort Washington on board two Kentucky Boats & one Keel Boat, (by the direction of Major Craig) all the Cloathing that has been received since the 16^th of August last, together with sundry Articles of Quarter Masters Stores &c and as the water is in an excellent State, & they are forwarded in charge of careful hands, Have no doubt of their reaching their destination in safety and in due time.
