I have to inform you that [C]linger Spreat has Charge of the sum of fourteen [thou-]=sand four hundred and thirty six Dollars, being for Pay and forage of the Army for the month of October which sum will be forwarded to you by Isaac Cra[undecipherable] at Pittsburg to whom Col. Spreat is to Deliver th[e] same. You will on Receipt thereof give your Dup[undecipherable] Receipts to be Accountable to the Accountant of th[e] War Department for the due application thereof; [undecipherable] the name of Mr Craig and forward them to him as he will be charged with the amount, when h[e] receives the same from Col.
