Sir, November 25th 1795
Your letter of the 9th Inst to the Secretary of War enclosing the duplicate of your M. Rolls for October, your Recruiting Account, Account Current and the Vouchers for your Contingent expenses was received at this Office on the 14th. The examination of which is unavoidably Suspended on Account of your Omitting to send on the Receipts for Bounty charged therein.
I have taken the earliest opportunity to inform you of this circumstance, that your public Accounts may if possible be settled before you arrive at head Quarters.
In the mean time I conceive it proper to inform you of the deductions made from the account transmitted by you about the 15 June last to the Secretary of War, as a considerable part of them were made from a Want of Sufficient Vouchers to Substantiate the charges and as it may probably be in your power to Send on the Vouchers with those already mentioned, or otherwise by explanation obviate the difficulties to their admission.
