I received your Letter of the 14th on the 20th Instant.
I enclose to you the following recits: vizt Receit Roll for such men as have joined at West Point since the 31th July 1795 to whom pay was due to that date.
Receit Roll for the month of August, 1795 for the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers at West Point.

I transmit you also an Account Current of this date, by which there appears to be now a balance of Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Twenty Eight Dollars and Eighty One Cents in my hands.
The Commanding Officer at West Point has been put to considerable expense in paying postages of Letters, received from Offices on detachment, and his horse has been employed several times in the pursuit of deserters. I would request you to inform me, if these charges against the United States can be paid out of any monies, which may remain from time to time in my possession.
