I have write Mess^rs [undecipherable] & [undecipherable] respecting the Plank, & am inclined to think a very great proportion is already cut this being the case would it not appear odd having pieces of the same kind different thickness's in the course of the work please hear from them. They count on sinking 25 p^rC^t was the Contract made now at least 50 p^rC^t would be added. As you know the Situation of the yard it is almost needless my observing that at present it is impossible feeding the people out of the yard their being no Houses where they could board at Gosport of course they must go to Portsmouth which would take one half their time therefore we must continue the Old mode for the present but from Appearances there may be Houses built before workmen will be wanted for the Frigate I am Yours with esteem W^m Pennock [Docket: M^r William Pennock / respecting the Contracts / for the Frigate at Norfolk / Novem: 16 1795]
