letter of the 4th Inst on the Subject of the Vouchers [to be]
forward by Mr John Carson for the pay of the Scouts on
the Frontiers of N. Carolina, and have to observe that
after carefully re-examining the papers produced by [him]
& from a full Consideration of Circumstances relat[ing]
thereto, I see no reason to retract from the Opin[ion]
given to Mr Carson [in] my Letter to him of the 30th
[&] that I still conceive it would be highly inexpedi[ent]
to admit the Vouchers produced by him to his Cl[aim]
until there is further Evidence of the Payment [of]
the Scouts, or to make him any further advanc[e]
the Bond given by him is cancelled.
