Philadelphia — Rec^d 13 Nov^r 1795 —] Pitsburg November 6^th 1795 Dear Sir I have this moment received your letter of the 30^th ultimo enclosing one thousand dollars in post notes I have sent forward to Fort Washington the g[reater] part of the hospital stores reserving only a small asortment f[or] the upper posts — A part only of the Medicine has yet come to hand contained in twenty three iron bound Kegs those I have sent for=ward entire having first submitted the General Invoice to Doc^t Wallace, & Col. Butler, and the result was that the Doctor is to make a requisition for Medicine for the upper posts. You will find enclosed herewith a copy of an Estimate of expenditures occasioned by buildings and works now erecting at Fort Franklin a like estimate is now transmitted to the Secretary of War — Amount Dollars 2085. 40 cents I have this day, in order to accomodate M. John Scull drawn on you in his favor for two hundred dollars, which be pleased to pay and charge as usual I have not yet had time to look at the news papers — of course have not yet seen the Attack on the Treasury department you allude to, but notwithstanding I have no objection to add my hearty Curse to yours against the Rascals I am Dear Sir Your obedient Humble Servant [signature: [undecipherable]] Samuel Hodgdon esq.
