[Jno Haskell rec^d 10 Nov Ans^d 14^th] [address panel: W^m Simmons Esq^r Accountant for the department of War Philadelphia] Sir Pittsburg Nov^r 3^d 1795 I arrived at this place yesterday, after performing a tedious journey over the mountains, all well and safe; it is probable shall be detained here several days for a conveyance down the river, as the water is very low, no public boats here or any soldiers at present to descend the river — Colonel Butler informs me has only enough to mount a Corporals guard of three, in the garrison and can not furnish any for me.
