The Secretary of War Sir, As Cap^t Benjⁿ Price as applied to you by Letter of the 10^th inst for his Pay: I have thought proper to inform you before the same is transmitted to him, that he stands charged in the Books of this Office with the following Sums of Money for which he has never produced any Vouchers. Out 1792 he received 1264.29 for pay of his Company of Lives D^o ............. 1000.... for Recruiting. 1793 ........... 3058.68 for pay of the 4^th Subdivision. Sir, I have to inform you that George Gale Esq^r received, in addition to the former Sum advised you of, the Sum of two thousand five hundred Dollars on acc^t of the pay of the Maryland Militia. As all Sums for the pay of the Militia have gone through your hands, you have been charged with this Sum on the Books of this Office.
