I have received your letter of the 20th inst. and note the contents agreeably to your request. I have transmitted your pay for the month of August to the pay Master at West Point & shall forward the pay for September & October to him likewise as it becomes due.
I have transmitted the pay of the Detachment under your command to Lt Manning & Fisher having made out the Pay Roll of the Infantry and about to transmit the amount concluded it most advisable to include the Artillery and place the amount in his hands. I am &c.
