Sir,
Your letter of the 14th Instant I have received enclosing your Muster and Pay Rolls to the 31st August which has been examined & find due thereon the sum of five hundred forty nine Dollars and 50 Cents which you will receive from Peter Chester Esqr. Supervisor of Connecticut being for the balance of your pay from the 1st up to the 31 of August 1795. and for the Pay of Ensigns Jonath. Remington and John W. Thompson and the Recruits under your Command to the 31 of August 1795 Inclusive, for which sum you will give him your Receipt to be accountable for the due application thereof — I enclose you a Pay Roll a blank Receipt Roll for your Government in paying the Men and when you have made the payments agreeably thereto you will transmit the receipt Roll to this Office to exonerate you from the Charge.
