nuary by Doc Gillaspy to the late Accountant I have before me - The vouchers to the Accounts received by [me] are in some measure irregular - I therefore take the liberty of returning them that such amendments may take place as are necessary - your Accounting Account must remain unsettled until you account for the whole amount of the Money placed in your hands for that purpose. There are among your Accounts some which are not settled at this Office - The expenditures for pursuing [undecipherable] must be particularly set forth, and all Accounts must be certified by you, and receipts on the same [before] they can be admitted - Doc Gillaspy has charge of 400 Dollars for the purpose of defraying the contingent expenses of your detachment for which sum you are held Accountable and for which you will please give him duplicate receipts. -
