[Samuel Meredith Rec^t D^s 28.622 ⁸⁴/₁₀₀] Received September 16. 1795 of William Simmons Accountant a Warrant N^o 668 for Twenty eight Thousand six hundred, [strikethrough: twenty] two dollars and eighty four Cents in full for the balance appearing due the State of Virginia, on settlement of their Account for the Pay and Subsistence of the Militia, Pay of the Scout, Ammunition furnished for their use, and Contingent expences in the protection of her frontiers; also for Pay and Incidental expences of the Militia ordered to arrest a privateer fitting out at Smithfield, in July 1799, & for the Pay and Subsistence of a detachment of Militia Artillery Stationed at Fort Nelson in the Year 1791, which Sum I am to transmit to Jacquelin Ambler Treasurer of said State per order of Gov^r.
